I’m Sarah Curtis. I’m a writer living in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

 

Sarah Curtis’s essays have appeared or are forthcoming in Creative Nonfiction, River Teeth, Crazyhorse, Salon, American Literary Review, Assay, Chaleur, Literary Mama, and elsewhere. Her work has been noted in 2018 Best American Essays edited by Hilton Als, nominated for the Pushcart Prize, and will be anthologized in a 2020 collection marking the best of the first twenty years of River Teeth journal. She holds a BA in literature from Rhodes College, an MS in Journalism from Boston University, and an MFA in Writing from the Vermont College of Fine Arts.

A former reporter and Chicago Public High School English teacher, Sarah lives with her husband and three children in a 170-year-old Michigan farmhouse, where she is at work on her first book, a biographical memoir.
